Sensenich Prop Approved For Legend Cubs, Texas Sport Cubs

Increases Speed By 10 MPH, Company Says

American Legend Aircraft Company and its homebuilt-kit offshoot, Texas Sport Aircraft Company, announced Wednesday the recent certification of a new 72-inch Sensenich composite propeller for the Legend Cub special light-sport aircraft (S-LSA) and Texas Sport kit aircraft.

The new propeller option increases aircraft performance by as much as 10 MPH, according to company officials. The propeller is ground-adjustable for owners to enhance performance, or tune the prop for comfort and efficiency.

The Sensenich prop specified for use on the Legend Cub and Texas Sport is a 2-blade model designed expressly for experimental and light-sport aircraft. Offered as an upgrade from the Legend Cub’s standard Sensenich 72x44 classic wood propeller, the 72-inch composite ground adjustable model costs $1,895.00. It is also available to Continental O-200-equipped Legend Cub current owners and Texas Sport builders for $2,556.00.

The 72-inch Sensenich propeller was recently tested and ASTM certified for use on the Legend Cub and Texas Sport. During the test it was noted that an additional 10 MPH can be achieved with the prop adjusted to high cruise pitch, effectively increasing the aircraft’s cruise speed to 108 MPH -- downright speedy for an aircraft with roots in the classic Piper J-3.

American Legend Aircraft Company manufacturers the Legend Cub, Legend FloatCub, Legend Combat, and Legend Cub Special—all FAA-certified aircraft for sport, recreation, and training.
