Level D FFS Under Construction For Single-Engine Helicopter Training
FlightSafety is building Level D qualified full flight simulators for single-engine helicopters operated by many law enforcement and other public safety agencies.
“The new helicopter training programs and full flight simulators will significantly enhance the quality and effectiveness of training,” said Steve Gross, Vice President, Sales. “Operators of single-engine helicopters will be able to train for routine and emergency situations in the safe and highly effective environment of Level D qualified simulators.”
The new Airbus AS350 B3, Airbus EC130T2, and Bell 407GX simulators will enable pilots to enhance their skill levels during autorotation, hover, and NVG operations, and effectively train for a complete range of emergency situations including Inadvertent IMC. “Completing initial and recurrent training in Level D qualified simulators also reduces costs and increases aircraft availability,” added Steve Gross.
The simulators will be installed at the new Learning Center FlightSafety is building adjacent to the Denver International Airport in Colorado. Construction is scheduled to begin in August on the 100,000 square foot facility. It is expected to be completed in the fall of 2016.
The new FlightSafety FS1000 simulators will be equipped with the latest technology. This includes FlightSafety’s VITAL 1100 visual system, CrewView glass mirror display, electric motion control and cueing, and advanced instructor operating station. The VITAL 1100 visual system enhances training by providing mission specific photo-realistic, highly-detailed imagery with vastly improved scene content, and exceptional environmental effects.
FlightSafety’s CrewView glass mirror displays deliver superior optical performance, sharper image clarity, and are night vision capable. Its modular design produces fields of view up to 300 degrees horizontally.
