The Commission Is A Seven-Member Panel Appointed By The Governor
The Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2020.
It will take place at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation Commission Room and by videoconferencing and teleconference using the methods listed below.
Items to be addressed at the meeting include:
Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission Director Grayson Ardies will report on the state of the aviation, aerospace, and airport industries.
The Commission will be briefed on the new Airport Pavement Management System that will be completed in the upcoming months. Staff will present the functionality of the system and procedures for collecting, analyzing, maintaining, and reporting of pavement data at Oklahoma airports.
The Commission will be briefed on the projects in the Airport Construction Program that were completed this year and given an update on the year’s planning and programming efforts for Federal and State funded projects. Airports to be discussed at the meeting include Antlers Municipal Airport, Ardmore Downtown Executive Airport, Atoka Municipal Airport, Jones Memorial at Bristow, Carlton Landing Field at Lake Eufaula, Chandler Regional Airport, Durant Regional - Eaker Field, Enid-Woodring Regional Airport, Fountainhead Lodge Airpark, Scott Field Airport at Mangum, McCurtain County Regional at Idabel, Okmulgee Regional Airport, Richard Lloyd Jones Jr. Regional Airport at Tulsa, South Grand Lake Regional at Ketchum, Stillwater Regional Airport, and Texhoma Municipal Airport.
The Commission will consider applying for two grant opportunities created by Section 625 of the Federal Aviation Association (FAA) Reauthorization Act of 2018. The Aircraft Pilots Workforce Development Grant Program and the Workforce Development Grant Program for Aviation Maintenance Technical Workers, which if granted, would be used to increase interest and to prepare students to pursue aviation and aerospace careers.
The meeting is open to the public. The Commission is a seven-member panel appointed by the governor to ensure that the needs of communities and commerce across Oklahoma are met by the state’s system of 108 public airports, and to ensure the viability of our state’s aerospace industry.
