Airborne 11.20.12: Riggs GROUNDED, Eurocopter Suffers Bizarre Jury Verdict

Also: Raptor Down, Wolf Fund, FlightDesign's 25th, 737Max, Super-STOL, Jepp Flight Deck

It’s been a long time coming but the jig is finally up for David Riggs, aviation's Public Enemy Number 1. On Friday the FAA issued an Emergency Revocation Order against Riggs, directing him to immediately surrender any and all pilot certificates and advising him that no new pilot certificate will be issued to him for a period of one year from the date of the order.

There's a running joke in the news reporting business that one should never let facts stand in the way of a good story. Unfortunately that seems to have been the case in a Texas trial where the jury - despite specific NTSB findings to the contrary, has decided that a 'defective flight control component caused the fatal crash of a U.S. Custom and Border Protection  Eurocopter AS350B3 helicopter on May 22, 2007.' All this... and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
