Eurocopter Says Fidae 2008 Show Was Successful

Signs Eight New Contracts At Chilean Event

Eurocopter tells ANN it demonstrated a significant presence at Fidae 2008 in Chile from March 31 to April 6, having most of its product range being presented on static or flying display.

With the signing of eight new contracts during the exhibition, Eurocopter confirmed its position as a leading helicopter manufacturer in the region. During the exhibition, Eurocopter also signed major agreements with two renowned Chilean universities, and also held the first symposium in Latin America on Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS).

Eurocopter, which has been present in Latin America for more than 30 years and counts today a total fleet of 1,000 helicopters, is still the only helicopter manufacturer having an industrial presence in the region through three subsidiaries (Brazil, Chile and Mexico). On account of the current dynamism of the market and of its long presence in the region, Eurocopter is studying various projects to increase its industrial presence, mainly through developing local cooperation.

In 2007, Eurocopter sold 90 units in Latin America, in comparison to 65 in 2006.
