Bell Helicopter And HALO-Flight Sign Deal For Bell 429

Order Placed At AMTC 2013 In Virginia Beach, VA

Bell Helicopter announced at the 2013 Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC) that HALO-Flight, Inc., a non-profit air and ground ambulance service, will be adding a Bell 429 to their fleet for air ambulance operations.

“Serving an area of 28,000 square miles and a population of more than one million people requires both talented people and safe, reliable transportation. We selected the Bell 429 for its modern design, cost effectiveness and single pilot IFR capability, which gives us peace of mind when our patients are counting on us,” said Tom Klassen, executive director at HALO-Flight.

HALO-Flight’s Bell 429 is scheduled for delivery in June 2014 and will primarily be used for pediatric medical transport. "We are honored that the dedicated men and women at HALO-Flight continue to place their trust in Bell helicopters. The Bell 429 will enhance their mission capability with more cabin space for up to two litters, class-leading speed for quick response times and a state-of-the-art flight deck for maximized situational awareness, enabling them to do what they do best – save lives," said Danny Maldonado, Bell Helicopter's executive vice president of Sales and Marketing.

HALO-Flight’s mission is to provide medical transport for critically ill or injured persons requiring medical or trauma facilities within its South Texas service area. Based in Corpus Christi, Texas, HALO-Flight began operations in September 1987 and in the years since, has transported thousands of patients.

Hosted by the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS), AMTC takes place this year in Virginia Beach, Virginia, October 21 to 23. The Air Medical Transport Conference is designed to provide leadership, to educate, to inform, to cultivate friendships and to supply up to the minute information on the latest techniques and innovative approaches to emergency medical transport practice from experts in the field. More than 2,500 emergency medical transport professionals from around the world are expected to attend.
