Airborne 11.06.19: Pilot Jobs!, Eviation, Voyager 2-WAY Out There

Also: Tuskegee Hero Honored, Avfuel Scholarships, EAA Scholarship Program, Safer Skies?

Polish off those resumes, folks.... Another airline has big plans to hire more pilots.

And we expect a lot more news like this as time goes on. Air Canada will need to hire some 350 pilots next year as the Boeing 737 MAX returns to service. Currently, the airplane has been taken off the Air Canada schedule through Valentine's Day, 2020. But when the carrier takes delivery of all the MAX aircraft it has on order, it will represent 24 percent of its narrow-body fleet. Electric air mobility pioneer Eviation Aircraft used the 3DEXPERIENCE platform developed by Dassault Systèmes to develop the first prototype of its electric regional commuter aircraft – Alice – in two years on the cloud. Once commercialized, Alice will be the world’s first all-electric regional commuter aircraft, capable of carrying nine passengers and two crew on a single charge for 650 miles at 10,000 feet. One year ago, on Nov. 5, 2018, NASA's Voyager 2 became only the second spacecraft in history to leave the heliosphere - the protective bubble of particles and magnetic fields created by our Sun. At a distance of about 11 billion miles from Earth - well beyond the orbit of Pluto - Voyager 2 had entered interstellar space, or the region between stars. Today, five new research papers in the journal Nature Astronomy describe what scientists observed during and since Voyager 2's historic crossing. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
