Holiday Fun For The Whole Family!
The Evergreen Aviation & Space
Museum is celebrating the holidays with three events -- Breakfast
with Santa on December 6, and Polar Express Pajama Day on December
13 and 20.
The first event, Breakfast with Santa, will take place from 8
a.m. to 12 p.m. on December 6. Families are encouraged to bring
canned food to donate to the Yamhill County Food Bank. Any person
who brings five or more cans of food will be entered into a drawing
for a family four-pack of IMAX tickets for a 2009 movie. The event
begins at 8:15 a.m. with Santa’s arrival by helicopter, which
will be followed by photos with Santa, breakfast and The Polar
Express 3D in the IMAX Theater. Admission for the event is $15 per
person, with free admission for children younger than
five-years-old.
The second festive event, The Polar Express Pajama day presented
by the Aerospace Book Club at the Evergreen IMAX Theater, begins at
9:30 a.m on December 13 and 20. Children will enjoy a warm cup of
hot chocolate and listen to a reading of The Polar Express.
Attendees will also see The Polar Express 3D in the IMAX Theater
and create their own holiday airplane ornaments.
Admission for children who arrive in pajamas is $9. General
admission is $11, with free admission for children younger than
five-years-old.
The Polar Express: An IMAX 3D Experience is the first
full-length feature ever converted into IMAX 3D. This
holiday-themed film, based on the classic Caldecott medal-winning
children's book written by Chris Van Allsburg, is directed by Oscar
winner Robert Zemeckis and stars two-time Academy Award winner Tom
Hanks. The animated film was one of the first to use CGI and
performance capture technology.
The movie will show November 21 – January 4 at the
Evergreen IMAX Theater. Space is limited for the Museum’s
holiday events and reservations are required.
