Source: The awkwardly-worded... but oddly prescient?... welcoming message to visitors to Biman Bangladesh Airlines' English-language website. The airline -- in the news recently over the FAA's ban on one of its flights from Dhaka to New York's JFK airport last Saturday, which was retracted Tuesday -- is reportedly facing several problems, not the least of which are safety concerns due to its aging fleet of aircraft. Critics say the government-supported airline is also awash in corruption. For it's part, Biman says it is working hard to make the airline a more-efficient operation. The carrier is also reportedly seeking compensation from the FAA for the weekend diversion.
