Southeast Aviation Show Expects To Draw A Crowd

Late October Event Hosted By South Carolina Aviation Association

The Southeast Aviation Show will be held on October 29 at the Greenville Downtown Airport (GMU) in South Carolina. The event is being hosted by the South Carolina Aviation Association (SCAA), and will feature the latest aviation products, a static aircraft display, and educational sessions.

"The South Carolina Aviation Association (SCAA) expects a large turnout for its first Southeast Aviation Show," said SCAA President Eric Ramsdell. The keynote speaker for the event will be AOPA President Craig Fuller. "We are working very hard to make this event a huge success. In order to make it an annual event, it must really take off the this first year."

Currently the event has 34 booth displays and 20 static displays, and it keeps on growing. On display will be a Cessna 172, Beechcraft Bonanza G36, Beechcraft Baron G58, R44 Raven II 2009, PT-17 Stearman, Piper Meridian, Pilatus PC 12, Carbon Cub SS, Diamond aircraft and more.

"The aviation community in the Southeast is very strong and we expect a great turnout for the first show," said Joe Frasher. Airport Director of the Greenville Downtown Airport. The event has been marketed to many groups from high school guidance counselors all the way to experienced pilots, and the organizers say it will offer something for everyone interested in aviation. Education sessions will be held throughout the day. Aviation enthusiasts can learn how to become a pilot and experienced pilots can learn about latest technology to include iPads in the cockpit.

"Michelin makes aircraft tires worldwide, including the Carolinas. We market these tires all over the world for all segments of aviation including the Commercial, Military and Regional markets as well as for General Aviation aircraft," said Keat Pruszenski, a Manager of Customer Support Engineering for Michelin Aircraft Tire Company. "As far as I know, we haven't had an aviation show this big in our region. The Upstate of South Carolina, and really all of the Southeastern part of the United States, has many aviation companies, as well as active aircraft enthusiasts. It just seems perfect for us to now have an aviation trade show in this region. We look forward to the opportunity to participate in the First Ever Southeast Aviation Show."

A listing of all the sessions can be found at the event website.
