Marshall Aviation Services Completes King Air 300 Garmin Upgrade

First Full-Glass G1000 Installation In The Beech Twin

Marshall Aviation Services, part of the Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group, recently completed a significant avionics upgrade with the installation of a Garmin G1000 full glass cockpit aboard a Beechcraft King Air 300 - for a European operator.  The G1000 avionics installation has become an appealing option for all King Air pilots seeking greater situational awareness and reduced pilot fatigue.  Accordingly, Marshall Aviation Services is pleased to be leading the way among independent European MRO companies in undertaking such work.

The G1000 upgrade, applicable for the 200, 300 and 350 King Air Series, integrates all primary flight, navigation, weather, terrain, radio frequency, engine and fuel data readouts on large format high definition LCDs.  For pilots flying newly refitted King Airs, the G1000 makes flying more enjoyable and less stressful with easy to access information.  The upgrade installation includes Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT), Autopilot, the first entirely  new designed feature certified for the 21st century (GFC 700),  Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) Capability; ADS-B compliance, geo-referenced charting and data-link weather and sat-com system.

“We are delighted to have worked on this contract, the first major installation on a King Air 300 in the entire EMEA region,” said Marshall Aviation Services General Manager Jason Davies.  “It is the first step in our goal to become a European centre of excellence for Garmin products and we plan to upgrade more King Air aircraft, as our capability expands.”

With some 425 King Airs in Europe alone, of which over 265 are 200 and 300 Series aircraft, the market for upgrading the older flight decks with the new G1000 system is significant.

Marshall Aviation Services, based at Broughton and Cambridge, UK holds EASA Part 21 Design Engineering Approvals and is a leader in STCs in development and installation.  It has Beechcraft approvals on the King Air 200, 300, 350i and Premier 1 and 1A.  The company also holds approvals on the Hawker platforms – 400; 750; 800; 800XP; 900XP; Hawker 1000 and 4000.
