Aerion Supersonic Coming To Los Angeles

Hiring Event Planned For September

Aerion is recruiting talent at the director and lead engineer levels for the AS2 supersonic aircraft at an event planned for September 21 in Los Angeles, CA. The company is seeking experienced program directors and subsystem engineers.

"We are looking for creative, brilliant, passionate, and collaborative pioneers who want to join with us to revolutionize global mobility through high-speed flight," said Tom Vice, Aerion president and Chief Operating Officer.

Vice noted that the Aerion team is growing rapidly as the company heads into detailed design, systems test, production, and first flight.

Aerion is developing the AS2 supersonic business jet in collaboration with GE, which is developing the first new civil supersonic engine in more than 50 years, and with Lockheed Martin, a leader in military supersonic flight.

Aerion plans to make the first flight of its AS2 supersonic business jet in 2023 and make a supersonic crossing of the Atlantic in October of that year—the 20-year anniversary of the last flight of the Concorde.

"The AS2 is the first in a series of increasingly capable and efficient supersonic aircraft, both business jets and airliners, that will revolutionize travel, create closer personal connections around the world, and drive global commerce," said Vice. "I cannot think of a greater mission, or more stimulating environment in which to work within the aerospace industry. We invite like-minded engineers to join with us in this great enterprise."
