CAE To Build Training Facility for Gulfstream Aircraft in Georgia
CAE Inc (formerly Canadian Aviation Electronics), a manufacturer of simulation and modeling technologies, as well as training services for aviation, healthcare are defense customers announced today that it will be constructing a business aviation training center in Savannah, Georgia. The new facility, which will be their fifth in the USA, is in proximity to Gulfstream’s headquarters in Georgia, and appears to show their confidence in future opportunities and business growth alongside Gulfstream.
Gulfstream Aerospace and CAE have worked together for many years, and both organizations see the arrival of the new facility as integral to their symbiotic ongoing relationship. Gulfstream is expecting to see growth in the coming operational cycles, and CAE sees themselves as appropriately positioned to be a part of that growth. CAE anticipates the new state-of-the-art training center will be fully operational in mid-2023, and house “four Gulfstream-family full flight simulators (FFSs)” in addition to maintenance training devices, briefing rooms, and classrooms.
CAE was founded in 1947 in Canada, and boasts a workforce of about 13,000 employees across 180 sites and training facilities in 35 or so countries. They also conduct airline and business jet pilot training, most notably initial/recurrent training for Jet Blue. Their purchase of Medical Education Technologies Inc (METI) in Sarasota Florida, and in the process, the HPS patient simulator, that gave them a footing in healthcare training. Gulfstream Aerospace, a subsidiary of General Dynamics, was founded in 1958 has just over 13,000 employees operating out of nine service centers world-wide and one component repair facility.
