Rockwell Collins Teams With Schneider Electric

Rockwell Collins To Introduce 4-D Flight Route Alerting For ARINCDirect Customers

According to Rockwell Collins, their ARINCDirect customers can now receive real-time, flight route specific weather alerts prior to departure and while enroute through a new Flight Route Alerting capability, the result of continued collaboration and integration with Schneider Electric’s industry weather applications.

The new feature allows ARINCDirect users to calculate precise flight plans up to 36 hours in advance, and continuously monitor potential routes for weather issues until they are completed or cancelled. In the case of an in-flight diversion or re-route, additional flight paths can be evaluated immediately, enabling pilots and schedulers to make better informed decisions.

“Weather incidents have a major impact on passenger comfort, can damage airplanes and increase costs for business aviation operators,” said David Poltorak, vice president, Business Aviation Services for Rockwell Collins. “Providing enhanced alerts about potentially disruptive weather along their flight path allows our customers to make adjustments that save time and money.”

“This new capability will provide Rockwell Collins’ ARINCDirect customers with real-time, automated alerts based on their specific weather tolerances,” said Ron Sznaider, senior vice president, Cloud Services at Schneider Electric. “This is another example of how Rockwell Collins continues to serve its customers by integrating the most advanced technologies into its services.”

Rockwell Collins says their ARINCDirect is the most comprehensive suite of flight support services for business aviation, including flight planning, regional and international trip support, cabin connectivity and flight operations management.
