NAFI's New/Renewed Master Instructors

The National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) takes pride in announcing a significant aviation accomplishment on the part of these very special aviation educators. Recently, they were all designated Master Instructors by NAFI, their professional aviation organization.
To help put this achievement in its proper perspective, there are approximately 81,000 CFIs in the United States. Fewer than four hundred of them have earned the Master designation thus far. As a measure of the prestige conferred by this title, the last seven FAA National Flight Instructors of the Year were Master CFIs. In addition, the FAA recently approved the designation as an alternate means for CFIs to renew their flight instructor certificates.

Lucile Mary BLEDSOE, Master CFI; Wray  CO

Lucile Bledsoe recently renewed her Master Instructor designation. Lucile is a CFI at Wray Municipal Airport (2V5) specializing in primary and instrument training. She is active in the 99s, the Colorado Pilots Association and serves as an Aviation Safety Counselor for the Denver FSDO.

Douglas Scott "Doug" CARMODY, Master CFI; Beaufort  SC

Douglas Carmody recently renewed his Master Instructor designation.  Doug owns and operates Executive Flight Training at the Beaufort County Airport (73J) and specializes in advanced training for owner pilots. He has been a professional pilot for over 27 years and recently retired from US Airways.

Christopher Kosin recently renewed his Master Instructor designation. Chris is the chief flight instructor for Kitze Aviation at Mettetal Airport (1D2) in Plymouth, Michigan. He also serves as an Aviation Safety Counselor for the Willow Run FSDO and was named their 2002 CFI of the Year.

David Dodson recently earned his Master Instructor designation. Dave is an independent flight instructor in South Bend (SBN) and Elkhart (EKM). He is a representative of AOPA's Airport Support Network, is active in EAA's Young Eagles program and also serves in the Indiana Civil Air Patrol.

Daniel Garner recently earned his Master Instructor designation. Daniel is the chief flight instructor and owner of Cedar Valley Air Service at Cedar Rapids-Eastern Iowa Airport (CID). He also teaches aviation related courses at Kirkwood Community College.

Wanda Wren STRASSBURG, Master CFI; San Luis Obispo  CA

Wanda Strassburg recently earned her Master Instructor designation. Wanda has been flying for more than 40 years and works as an independent flight instructor as well as a pilot examiner at the San Luis County Airport (SBP). She also serves as an Aviation Safety Counselor for the San Jose FSDO.
