Bell Training Academy Now GI Bill Eligible

Helicopter Pilot Training Now Covered by VA Education and Training Assistance

Bell Training Academy has announced good news for former military service members, now that the Veterans Affairs office has approved the school for pilot training reimbursement. As part of the VA's Education and Training assistance, veterans who meet qualifications to receive GI Bill education reimbursement can apply to have all or a portion of their flight training compensated.

The GI bill, established in 1944, has helped cement military service as a cornerstone of the aviation industry, significantly defraying the cost of education for millions of personnel throughout the program's history. It's a welcome accommodation for those servicemen hungry to enter the world of rotorcraft that have been daunted by the often considerable cost of training, especially high-quality, professional schooling. Bell's initially approved courses available include the Bell 206, 505, 407, and 429 model courses. In a press release, Bell Textron named the applicable classes to those specific models, including the Pilot Initial Transition Course, Pilot Initial Night Vision Goggles (NVG), Pilot Refresher NVG, Flight Instructor NVG, Ground Course NVG, Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Rating Course, Bell 429 Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Rating Course (FFS) at Bell’s Valencia, Spain facility, Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Rating Course and Initial and Refresher Training.

“As a company that employs nearly 1,500 veterans and provides leading aircraft and training solutions to the U.S. military, Bell is proud to be named an approved training institution for this nation’s veterans,” said Anna Taborsky, general manager, Global Customer Training, Bell. “The Bell Training Academy looks forward to offering several pilot training courses for active service members and veterans that are eligible for reimbursement through the VA GI Bill. This is another way that Bell continues to show support for active and former military.”
