Trade You Two F-5s For A B-26 ...

That's The Deal Made By An Aviation Museum In Taiwan

An aviation museum in Taiwan has made a deal with an American museum in which they will send two decommissioned F-5s to the U.S. in exchange for a B-26 bomber.

The Boeing would be housed in a museum dedicated to the Black Cat Squadron in the Republic of China (ROC). The squadron was operated jointly by the U.S. and the ROC, flying training and operational missions with a U-2 reconnaissance aircraft over the People's Republic of China. According to Wikipedia, a total of 19 U-2 aircraft were assigned to the Black Cat Squadron over its 14 year existence between 1961-1974.

But the squadron also did electronic intelligence gathering using B-26 aircraft, 15 of which were lost due to accidents with the remainder being scrapped after the unit was disbanded in 1974, according to a report appearing on StrategyWorld.com.

Which U.S. museum would be swapping a B-26 for two F-5s was not revealed. It was also not noted if the deal included a U-2 to be named later.
