The Avidyne Vantage 12 is finally certified and will shortly be shipping out so that aging Cirrus airframes can get updated with big 12 inch screens, stunning synthetic vision and a list of capabilities that can’t but help to impress. Avidyne’s Dan Schwinn gives us an update. Want to travel with your plane and have all the aero-comforts of a pilot home, to boot, Fly-Inn has a rental program that matches traveling pilots with rental homes on or near airports, often with hangars and other attractions…. Kind of an AeroBnB kind of thing…. And we can’t wait to try it. The history of WWII and the aircraft that fought a global war is a storied one… at best, glorious, and often sad… But the warbirds that remain are ample proof that Freedom Is Not Free… and that brave men and women paid a high price to allow us to keep ours…. Pratt & Whitney’s 747SP test vehicle is but one of only two left in the world, though 45 were previously produced in years past. The test bed, based on a shorter fuselage and powered by 4 JT-9D powerplants, on display, drew quite a crowd… before it heads off to retirement. All this -- and so much MORE in today's episode of Airborne-Unlimited!!!
