Aero-News: Quote Of The Day (01.31.13)

Aero-News: Quote of the Day

ANN's Quote of the Day usually derives from current news, though we reserve the right to pick quotes out of history that have a bearing on the day's events and issues.

Sometimes, you'll find them timely and in keeping with the content of the day's news... and sometimes, they'll just be thought-provoking.

Reader suggestions and comments are welcome... and if particularly intriguing, timely, or poignant, may themselves become future Quotes of the Day.

Let us hear from you, folks!

Aero-News Quote of the Day

"The private, aerial firefighting industry has submitted a viable plan to replace today's dwindling number of former Cold War Era military aircraft with modern tankers, derived from commercial jets. Although that plan was submitted more than a year ago, it has yet to be acted upon by the US Forest Service (USFS)--even though the airframe acquisitions and tanker modifications would be at no cost to the government." Source: Tom Eversole , Executive Director of the American Helicopter Services and Aerial Firefighting Association (AHSAFA) at the group's annual meeting in Boise, Idaho, in November.
