FAA Announces Key UAS Jobs

Agency Posts Senior Advisor For Integration, Director Of Integration Office Positions

The FAA has posted two executive-level job announcements to www.USAJobs.gov to enhance its approach to UAS integration.

The first is a new position – senior advisor on UAS integration – that will focus on external outreach and education, interagency initiatives and an enterprise-level approach to FAA management of UAS integration efforts. The senior advisor will report directly to the FAA’s deputy administrator.

The second executive position is the director of the UAS Integration Office within the Aviation Safety Organization. The director will focus on intra-agency efforts to enable a deliberative technical and safety methodology for integration of UAS in the National Airspace System. To enhance its focus on UAS integration issues across the agency, the FAA is changing the reporting structure of the UAS Integration Office. The director will now report to the associate administrator for aviation safety.
