Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation Announces New Leadership and Programs

Former Executive Director and Close Hoover Friend Again Takes The Reins Of Reinvigorated Foundation

The Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation, established by the late Bob Hoover and his closest friends, is pushing past the woes of the pandemic and announcing new leadership as well as an aggressive new set of priorities... with more to come.

Prior to his passing, Bob formed the Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation. He did so for one purpose: to contribute to the growth and betterment of aviation in perpetuity. He was a humble man despite his amazing achievements, and had no interest in personal memorials, or tributes to the past. Bob wanted his name, his memorabilia – in fact, all of his aviation assets – to be used to support the top quality preparation of tomorrow’s aviation leaders. He wanted the future of aviation to be greater than the past... and that's now the chief responsibility of the foundation.

Aero-News Network CEO, Jim Campbell, will again serve as the BHLF Executive Director, as well as taking a seat on the Foundation's board. Campbell was a long-time friend of Bob Hoover and worked with him to chronicle his 1990s difficulties with the FAA over his airshow display work in his book, “Air of Injustice.” Jim is also the author of 19 other books, to date, and the CEO and Editor-In-Chief of the Aero-News Network, the aviation world’s first online 24/7/365, real-time aviation/aerospace news service and the Executive Producer of ‘Airborne Unlimited’ – aviation’s only daily aviation video news program series, now in its second decade of production.

In addition to the work of the Foundation, his upcoming book, ‘Friends of Bob’ chronicles the best remembered stories of Bob’s life by his closest friends and associates.

Campbell feels good about the directions the Foundation is intent on taking, "After spending an illuminating year in service to the Foundation a few years back, I have the advantage of having worked closely with friends and associates of Bob to build the mission and momentum necessary to see that Bob's vision for a better future for aviation might be realized. He was one of my dearest friends... I miss him every day... and I am totally dedicated to making sure that the future that Bob and I talked about so passionately may someday be fully realized. My thanks to my fellow BHLF board members, Brian Cochran, Michael Herman and Jim Kidrick, for their faith in me and allowing me to take this mission on once again."

The updated foundation program is off to a solid start with agreements already in place to recommence the yearly issuance of Bob Hoover scholarships, as well as a number of aggressive education and professional programs dedicated to building a more credible, ethical and professional aviation industry and community. Announcements are scheduled for Oshkosh 2022 with others to follow at NBAA-BACE 2022, Sun 'n Fun Aerospace Expo 2023, and beyond. Further, news about the creation of a special advisory board and an adjunct program, to be called the "The Hoover Society," are scheduled shortly.

Note: The Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation is a 501c3 organization conceived and formed by R.A. Bob Hoover, in 2016, to perpetuate Bob’s life-long dedication to aviation learning and safety, and to inspire those qualities in succeeding generations of American aviators.
