First Mi-17 Full Mission Simulator To Be Located In Central Europe

Installation Will Satisfy NATO And EU Training Requirement

The Slovak Ministry of Defense (MOD) has contracted Virtual Reality Media, a.s. (VRM), a simulator manufacturer based in Trencín, Slovakia, to build Mi-17 fixed-base Full Mission Simulator.  The simulator which will include a training center, is scheduled to be completed and available for training in April 2010.

The facility will be the first Mi-17 Full Mission Simulator that will be based in Central Europe and the Slovak MOD says it intends to make this unique training capability available for NATO and EU allies to train their helicopter crews deployed in various peacekeeping missions.

They say the use of modern simulators for basic, advanced and mission training is a great contribution to the quality, safety and efficiency of today's training requirements.

VRM has produced a number of full flight/full mission and fixed base Mi-17 helicopter simulators for various customers around the world.
