Diamond's First DA50 RG Touches Down In China

New Austrian Bird Reaches Another Milestone for China AirShow 2021

Diamond's newest iteration of their successful DA-series aircraft, the DA50 RG, recently made the North Atlantic Crossing to Guangzhou, China from its hometown in Wr. Neustadt, Austria.

The ferry flight took 8 days, 45 hours, and 12 legs to travel over 7,000 nautical miles.

Diamond company personnel saw an average fuel consumption of 11.8 US Gallons per hour as they flew through Greece, Egypt, Saudi Arabia,Pakistan, and Vietnam, to show off the new demonstrator livery at the China AirShow. The distinctive graphics and red color scheme is perfect to grab the attention of the crowds before the wide release of the eagerly awaited DA50 RG.

For the first time including retractable gear in a Diamond single, the new plane will be a competitor to the premium single market as it sports a 300hp FADEC Turbo Six, a roomy 5 seat cabin, deicing, and G1000 NXi avionics.

Most interestingly, its Continental CD-300 runs on Jet-A. Expected to be available Quarter 4 of 2022 through Diamond sales partners, the DA50 RG may still be news to readers, having debuted at EAA AirVenture in July 2021.
