Life Link III Receives Full CAMTS Accreditation

Designation Effective Through April 1, 2022

Life Link III has been awarded full accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) for both its rotor wing and fixed wing services. The CAMTS accreditation status is one of the most prestigious industry designations that may be achieved and extends across the entire Life Link III program including its fixed wing base and eight helicopter bases located in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Life Link III has been a CAMTS accredited program since 2007 with reaccreditation required every three years. The most recent accreditation has been awarded from April 1, 2019 to April 1, 2022.

The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems is dedicated to improving the quality of patient care and safety of the transport environment for services providing rotor wing, fixed wing and ground transport systems. Air medical programs who apply for the CAMTS accreditation are held to a rigorous set of guidelines and safety standards that span all aspects of an air medical flight program including medical direction, crew education, communications, safety, documentation and quality improvement. The accreditation process includes a comprehensive document review and multi-day, on-site inspection.

“We are honored to once again receive full CAMTS accreditation for our fifth consecutive term. I am incredibly proud of our team who consistently focus on putting the patient first and upholding our unwavering commitment to providing the best in patient care and aviation safety,” said Edward Eroe, President & CEO of Life Link III.

Life Link III is a non-profit consortium of ten leading healthcare systems spread throughout the upper Midwest. The organization was established in 1985 as one of the first non-profit consortiums in the country to transport critically ill patients by helicopter. Since its inception, Life Link III has focused on clinical excellence and is an early adopter in bringing innovative new technology to patient care. They also serve as the exclusive air medical transport service for five neonatal intensive care unit teams throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin.

More information on the CAMTS accreditation process can be found at CAMTS.org.
