WSI Intro's WSI Pilotbrief Pro

New pre-flight planning system improves on-time performance and passenger comfort

WSI has been briefing NBAA attendees about their introduction of WSI Pilotbrief Pro, an enhanced version of its award-winning WSI Pilotbrief service. WSI Pilotbrief Pro enables professional pilots to make the best pre-flight decisions in the shortest time possible, thereby improving on time performance, passenger comfort and the safety of operations.

WSI Pilotbrief Pro combines weather, airspace and navigation information into one integrated graphic workspace. With this new route-centric briefing system, pilots and dispatchers can quickly evaluate multiple routing options for any city pair. A friendly user interface allows pilots to customize the information display and to navigate geographically with ease. WSI Pilotbrief Pro saves time by quickly printing a tailored, graphic-rich route briefing with the same information a pilot would receive from a FAA Flight Service Station briefing.

WSI Pilotbrief Pro features a new 1 km resolution, 5-minute WSI NOWrad radar mosaic. This WSI quality-controlled mosaic of all U.S. NEXRAD sites is the most accurate and detailed weather radar information available, and is only accessible through the WSI Pilotbrief Pro system. WSI NOWrad ensures the accurate depiction of areas of precipitation, and passes through a rigorous multi-step quality control processes that is managed around the clock by a team of WSI professional meteorologists.

"WSI Pilotbrief Pro demonstrates our commitment to be an innovative and customer-driven company," said Arlo Gambell, Director of Aviation Services. "WSI Pilotbrief Pro allows aircrews to stay abreast of critical changes in airspace and the weather conditions along their planned route of flight," he added.

WSI Pilotbrief Pro is designed to allow aviation professionals to make the best pre-flight decisions in the shortest time possible. The system enables crews to improve 'on-time' performance, passenger comfort and the safety of operations with the following features:

  1. Interactive Workspace including WSI NOWrad, Watch Boxes and Airspace Boundaries
  2. Plotted Route of Flight
  3. Highest Resolution WSI NOWRad Radar Mosaic - 1 km
  4. Concise Printable Briefings
  5. Includes All the Functionality of WSI Pilotbrief
  6. High Speed Image Rendering
