Eight Lost In Corporate Airlines Accident

Survivors Rushed To Local Hospitals

At least eight people were killed in the Tuesday night crash of a twin-engine turboprop commuter near Kirksville (MO).

The Jetstream 32 (file photo of type, right) went down after its flight crew radioed controllers that they were on the approach to Kirksville Regional Airport. A spokesman for the FAA said the crew didn't mention any problems in their last transmission.

The weather was overcast with mist and thunderstorms in the area.

Corporate Airlines Flight 5966 carried 13 passengers and a crew of two. At least two of the passengers survived the initial impact as the aircraft clipped some trees before impacting the ground, spreading debris for about a mile.
