Airlines For America Launches AirlinesTakeAction.com

New Streamlined Webpage To Be Coronavirus Resource For Travelers, Government And Others

Airlines for America (A4A) has launched a new webpage, www.AirlinesTakeAction.com, that will serve as a streamlined resource on COVID-19 for air travelers, government agencies, Congress and the general public.

"The safety, health and wellbeing of travelers are always the top priorities of U.S. carriers," said Rebecca Spicer, Senior vice president of Communications. "That's why airlines are working collaboratively with the Administration, CDC, HHS, DOT, DHS and other federal agencies to identify and implement pragmatic effective solutions during this public health crisis."

On the webpage, travelers may access links from U.S. carriers detailing actions that airlines are taking to help contain and eliminate COVID-19. Additionally, there are tips for travelers from the CDC, HHS and DHS, as well as a link to the CDC's Frequently Asked Questions about COVID-19.

The webpage includes news updates from the President's Task Force, including clips from the White House briefings. Vice President Mike Pence said, "There's been no recommendation on any limitations on travel within the United States of America… The risk remains low."

Dr. Robert Redfield, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, had a similar message saying, "I just want to echo again that the risk is low – the risk is low. I encourage Americans to go about their life. That includes travel to California, Oregon and the state of Washington."

The webpage additionally includes news clips from mayors across the nation who remind travelers that their cities are open for business, including Mayor Muriel Bowser of Washington, D.C. "The district is open for business. The district is prepared to deal with a health emergency, and we will get information out to the public about all of our communication strategies," said Mayor Bowser.

The webpage will be updated regularly with new information to ensure that the latest updates are available to help all constituencies make informed decisions.
