State Troopers Credited With Assisting In Lifesaving Action

Passenger Had A Heart Attack On A Delta Flight

Two Colorado state troopers are being hailed for their quick action in assisting a Delta flight crew when another passenger suffered a heart attack on a flight from Denver to Atlanta Tuesday.

The two police officers ... Lt. Colonel Brenda Leffler and Major Steve Garcia ... heard a commotion somewhere behind them on the plane. A woman was reportedly screaming that her husband had suffered a heart attack.

Television station KUSA reports that Leffler, who also serves in the Army as a medic, and Garcia went to assist the unconcous passenger. They worked with the flight crew to revive him using a defibrillator kept on the plane.

Leffler told the station that she and Garcia work as a team as police officers, and they knew immeidately what to do. But as far as being heroes ... Leffler dismisses the idea. As state troopers "this is what we do every day," she said.
