Falcon 2000 Takes the Lead

More From The "It Ain't Bragging, If It's True" Department

The most popular large-cabin aircraft in use in fractional programs is now also the best-selling: one out of every five large-cabin business jets delivered in 2002 was a Falcon 2000. "This is an exciting achievement for us," said John Rosanvallon, president of Dassault Falcon. "It validates what we've been saying all along about the capabilities and cost-efficiency of the Falcon 2000."

The Falcon 2000 is a twin-engine, wide-body aircraft with a 3000 nm range at normal .80 Mach cruising speed (eight passengers, NBAA IFR reserves). Since its certification in 1995, over 200 Falcon 2000s have been delivered to customers worldwide. Its longer-range sibling, the 2000EX, is slated for first deliveries in the 2nd quarter of 2003, and is already showing signs of being a very popular follow-up to the Falcon 2000. Well over fifty firm orders have been placed for the 2000EX, with about half coming from NetJets' fractional program.

Dassault Falcon Jet Corp. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dassault Aviation, and is responsible for selling and supporting Falcon business jets throughout North America, South America, and the Pacific Rim countries of Asia (including China). Since the rollout of the first Falcon 20 in 1963, over 1600 Falcon jets have been delivered to more than 65 countries worldwide. The family of Falcon jets currently in production includes four tri-jets - the Falcon 50EX, 900C, 900EX, and the new 7X - as well as the twin-engine Falcon 2000 and 2000EX.
