Meets FAA's 2020 Mandate For ADS-B Compliance
ACSS, an L-3 and Thales Company, has launched of its NXT-700 transponder for legacy business jet aircraft. Compliant with the FAA's Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) Out 2020 mandate, this new ACSS transponder was successfully flown aboard a Learjet 31A with Duncan Aviation.
ACSS is also providing an FAA Approved Model List (AML) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the system. European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) approvals are expected shortly.
“Duncan Aviation is proud to partner with ACSS as a launch customer,” said Mark Francetic, Regional Avionics Sales Manager for Duncan Aviation. “Legacy aircraft have been left out where avionics equipment that satisfies the NextGen mandate are concerned.”
“We are committed to meeting the industry’s needs for critical avionics ahead of pending mandates and are especially pleased to provide a solution that specifically caters to a broad range of legacy business jets,” said Terry Flaishans, President of ACSS.
The NXT-700 is a plug-and-play DO-260B mandate solution in support of ADS-B for multiple legacy aircraft. The configuration is compatible with current Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) equipment, including the newly required TCAS Change 7.1 standard, and can use the existing mounting rack and connectors for quick installation.
