Promoted: Gulfstream's Neil Vernon

Vernon To Take On Duties As Director Of Demonstration And Corporate Flight Operations

Gulfstream has promoted Neil Vernon to director, Demonstration and Corporate Flight Operations. In his new role, he coordinates demonstration flights, showcasing the capabilities of Gulfstream aircraft to potential customers around the world. Vernon also oversees flights of corporate aircraft and the award-winning, industry leading Gulfstream Airborne Product Support aircraft. He replaced Roc Miles, who retired on April 24.

An eight-year Gulfstream employee, Vernon most recently served as chief demonstration pilot for the company’s large-cabin aircraft. As such, he guided the department through International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) certification. In addition to being qualified to fly mid-cabin business jets, Vernon serves as a senior international demonstration captain and has served as safety officer for Gulfstream.

During Vernon’s more than 20 years as a pilot, he has flown corporate jets for National Bank of Commerce in Lincoln, NE, and Gateway Computers in Sioux City, Iowa. His early aviation career included a stint as a regional airline pilot for West Air. Vernon also served as a pilot and aviation education coordinator for the state of Nebraska. Along with flying state government officials, which included the governor, he was responsible for aviation education within the state’s Department of Aeronautics.

Vernon has a bachelor’s degree in professional aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla. He has earned pilot type ratings for all Gulfstream aircraft as well as the Beechcraft King Air 300/350.
