Former Soviet Republics Move Toward Aviation Cooperation

Ukraine, Azerbaijan Eyeing Joint Ventures

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Ukranian Minister for Industrial Development, Alexander Neustroyev have reached what could be a milestone agreement on joint aviation ventures. Already, it seems to be paying off.

Azernews reports Aliyev believes the agreement is a basis for increased economic development cooperation between the two countries. Already, the Ukraine is demonstrating an Antonov variant in Azerbaijan. Neustroyev, in turn, had kind words for the international airport in Baku. He said Azerbaijan was ready to buy cargo aircraft made in the Ukraine.

The two also said they reached an accord on aviation education. Under the agreement, both countries would recognize aviation credits and degrees issued by the other.
