Emivest Types Pilot For Next SJ30 Delivery

First SP Type Rating Issued Since Takeover

Emivest, working its way painfully back to production with the SJ30 bizjet, tells ANN that they have just had the first Single-Pilot Type Rating issued since they took over... to Debra Draheim.

Debra is the pilot for the privately held company that will take delivery, this summer, of SJ30 serial number 008, which will be the first customer delivered SJ30 since the acquisition. It is currently being prepared for flight test -- which is scheduled to occur as early as next week. Emivest also notes that Debra is the first woman and mother to become single pilot type rated in the SJ30.

Debra is currently a captain on the CRJ-200/700/900 with a regional airline. "I really enjoy flying the SJ30. It is a swift and agile jet. I was surprised to see how easy it was to fly and am impressed with its speed, fuel efficiency, and capability. The entire team at Emivest provided their time and resources to help me learn everything I could to prepare for my single pilot check ride, and the training was excellent! It compared to an airline structure, except I could go down to the factory floor to examine the airplane in different stages of development, for hands on training! I look forward to flying serial number 008 when the company takes delivery this summer" Debbie said.

"We are very proud that Debbie has successfully completed her factory training and that she has made some history with the SJ30 program. She is a unique lady in that she holds a Bachelor of Science in Math from the US Naval Academy, a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and flew in the Navy. Now, she becomes the first woman and mother to be single pilot rated" comments COO Joe Gullion. He adds "we look forward to the delivery of their aircraft so they can begin enjoying the speed, range, and comfort that the SJ30 offers. This also marks the beginning of a new era for Emivest as we move into production"

Paul Arrambide, Chief Flight Instructor adds that, "Debbie has been a great student and exemplifies the quintessential SJ30 pilot with a good blend of the love of flying, the enthusiasm for performance, and safety always. It was a pleasure to be here for her as she made history with Emivest and I look forward to talking to her after she has a chance to build some time in their aircraft."

EAC's SJ30 business jet has a range of 2,500 nautical miles and a cruise speed of Mach .83 (486 kts). The single pilot certified jet operates at altitudes to 49,000 feet and maintains a "Sea Level Cabin" through 41,000 ft with a 12 psi differential.
