ICG Offers Low Cost Nxtlink CIS-100 Single Channel Receiver

Transceiver Fits 'Any Size Aircraft'

ICG is extending on-board global telephone and Wi-Fi communication capabilities to any size aircraft, including small, owner-flown single engine models, by introducing an affordable, single channel ICG NxtLink Series CIS-100 transceiver. The standalone device permits connections of conventional telephone devices or legacy Private Automated Branch Exchange (PABX) systems via standard 2-wire "Tip and Ring" circuits or a 4-wire audio. Packaged with ICG's NxtMail server, it offers a solid Wi-Fi solution, as well.

"In response to significant customer recommendations, we have developed the CIS-100 as a simple, low cost device that will give any aircraft the added safety, convenience and connectivity that owners and operators have only recently been able to acquire for their much larger, more sophisticated business and personal aircraft," noted Jeff Saucedo, ICG's Vice President of OEM Sales. "It is a small , light weight, flange mount design weighing only 3 ½ pounds, but it provides up to three telephone connections, intercom calling, call transfer, conferencing and follow-on dialing. It's an ideal solution for smaller aircraft operators who are seeking seamless global communications without the inconvenience of no-service areas," he explained.

Utilizing the global Iridium satellite network, the CIS-100 will allow users to receive inbound or place outbound calls. Additionally users are able to place calls on hold, conference, transfer, or simply perform station to station functions.. It can be packaged with ICG's NxtMail Server to provide wireless Internet connectivity (Wi-Fi), as well. Its audio level can be adjusted up to +/- 20 dB of gain or attenuation per extension or through the Iridium channel, to optimize voice quality, even in a noisy environment, or to accommodate various types of handsets. It can also be ordered with credit card calling services to support charter and frational ownership type aircraft, as well.
