AD: GE Honda Aero Engines Turbofan Engines

AD NUMBER: 2019-16-02

PRODUCT: All GE Honda Aero Engines (GHAE) HF120 model turbofan engines with a certain fuel pump metering unit (FPMU) assembly.

ACTION: Final Rule.

SUMMARY: This AD was prompted by damage found on the permanent magnetic alternator (PMA) drive gear within the FPMU assembly.

This AD requires removal of a certain FPMU assembly and its replacement with a part eligible for installation.

DATES: This AD is effective September 13, 2019.

COST: The FAA estimates hat this AD affects 161 engines installed on airplanes of U.S. registry. Operators may incur the following costs in order to comply with this AD:

Replace the FPMU

  • Labor: 6.5 work-hours × $85 per hour = $552.50 per engine.
  • Parts: $50,000.
  • Cost per engine: $50,552.50.
