Happy Veteran's Day -- Aviation Safety Resources Awarded for Vet Hiring

Department of Labor Grants 2021's Hire Vets Medallion

Aviation Safety Resources is one of the most recent recipients of the Department of Labor's Hire Vets Medallion Award, which was bestowed in a virtual ceremony by U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh. Among 849 recipients, ASR earned the Gold award for their successful track record in recruitment, hiring, and retention of military veterans. The Nicholasville, Kentucky company applied for the award as a small business after fulfilling the necessary requirements.

Recipients of the Medallion must meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including hiring and retention percentages, availability or vet-specific resources, human resource assistance, tuition assistance, and leadership programming for former military personnel. The gold level award requirements vary by business size, but in general, 75% of their hired veterans must be retained, as well as ensure at least 7% of all new hires are prior service.

Larry Williams, president and CEO of ASR said, “It is a true honor to be recognized for  the first time as a HIRE VETS Gold Medallion award winner by the U.S. Department of  Labor. We’re proud of our company’s unwavering commitment and accomplishments in hiring, training, and developing Veterans in the next stage of their careers. Our Veterans bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and leadership to the company.

Their mission accomplishment attitude is not only infectious, but it inspires a spirit of pride that resonates throughout the rest of the company. We love our Veterans!"

Aviation Safety Resources began in 2000 as a private company to design and test a new parachute recovery system. With two decades of operation under their belt, the team has expanded to reach the newest generation of aircraft, developing systems, canopy design, manufacturing techniques, ballistics, aircraft interference engineering, and ejection technologies.
