At the Redbird Migration 2013, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell spent some one-on-one time with Jerry Gregoire, Founder and Chairman of Redbird Flight Simulation.
Needless to say, the topic of discussion was pilot training. Gregoire is a champion of considering new and different ways to provide training. The Redbird Migration is a gathering of pilots, educators, and training school operators who meet to learn from people inside and outside the aviation training industry.
While Gregoire is well known for his innovative simulator concepts, he sees the introduction of these types of training devices as only part of a larger picture. In Gregoire’s opinion, our whole concept of how we recruit new pilots for training and retain pilots now in training needs to be looked at and possibly overhauled. The Redbird Migration had it all, from simulators, to new special-purpose trainer planes, to new concepts in flight school operations. Jerry Gregoire is a guy you need to listen to, and this video is a good place to start.
