Piper Aircraft Resumes Factory Tours

Pilots, Families Once Again Check Out the Factory Floor, Gift Shop

After a 3-year hiatus, Piper is opening the doors for visitors once again, granting an inside look into their production line.

Attendees will be able to see a number of the brand's lineup in construction at any given time, with 9 different models in the portfolio covering everything from lightweight prop trainers like the classic Archer, Seminole, and Pilot 100i to the more upscale and capable M350, M500, and M600s. The factory floor is the same one that's been home to Piper since the 50's, marking decades of classic American manufacture.

“It’s rare for a production facility like ours to open their doors to the public, but as one of the largest employers in Indian River County, we believe it’s important for our community to see what we do here each day,” said Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support Ron Gunnarson. “With over 85 years of stellar manufacturing experience, we hope our community will take the opportunity to see what we offer not only locally, but to the aviation industry at large.”

Tours are free, and are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00 and 13:00 local time. The 2-hour walking tour takes attendees through the floor for a look at construction throughout its stages, with the requisite tour through the gift shop afterwards. Tours of the floor are open to ages 16 and up, children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
