Airborne 07.19.23: Cicaré 8 Heli, Kodiak-100/Hartzell 5, Beech Denali

Also: Hartzell Everywhere, Second Gulfstream G800, UAL-Pilots Agreement, Pilot Retirement Age

Cicaré USA’s Cicaré 8 helicopter has achieved certification under the LTF-ULH regulations for ultralight helicopters (under 1320-pounds maximum take-off weight).

The helicopter is the first to be certified under the new weight class. Daher has delivered a unique Kodiak-100 to the North Carolina Forest Service’s Aviation Division (NCFSAD). By taking delivery of the high-wing, single-turboprop-engine utility airplane, the NCFSAD earned the distinction of being the world’s first operator of a Kodiak-100 equipped with a composite five-blade propeller. The organization will utilize the plane as a “load aircraft” and ply it to the carriage of equipment and supplies in support of aerial tankers in the wildfire suppression role. Textron will debut its clean-sheet Beechcraft Denali single-turboprop-engine business aircraft at the upcoming EAA AirVenture fly-in and air-show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Beechcraft’s Denali is a seven-to-nine passenger, low-wing, T-tail aircraft powered by a single 1,300-shaft-horsepower General Electric Catalyst turboprop. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne-Unlimited!!!
