Bell Helicopter revealed the configuration and full-scale vertical-takeoff-and-landing (VTOL) air taxi vehicle today during CES 2019.

The air taxi, named Bell Nexus, is powered by a hybrid-electric propulsion system and features Bell’s signature powered lift concept incorporating six tilting ducted fans that are designed to safely and efficiently redefine air travel. The EAA Aviation Museum in Oshkosh has been selected as one of the 20 Best Aviation Museums Around the World, according to the CNN Travel website. The updated listing, published over Christmas, includes aircraft collections on display in 11 different countries. The EAA museum opened in 1983, in Oshkosh. The museum showcases more than 100 aircraft in the main museum and at its seasonal Pioneer Airport, a reproduction of a 1920s-era aerodrome that features actual flight experiences. All forms of aviation have their hazards... but when an aviation sport sees serious increases in their safety record, all of aviation should take notice. Thirteen skydiving fatalities were recorded in the U.S. in 2018 - an historic low, according to the U.S. Parachuting Association. Since 1961 USPA has compiled every skydiving fatality in the U.S., except skydives conducted under military orders. There were 14 fatalities in 1961, a year when there were just 3,300 USPA (then called Parachute Club of America) members making an estimated 126,000 jumps. That equated to one fatality every 9,000 jumps. The number of annual fatalities climbed steadily after 1961, finally peaking in 1981 at 56. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
