Festival Supporters Say FAA Won't Shut Them Down

James Dean Fans Say They'll Continue Pushing For Partial Airport Closure

"Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today."
--Actor James Dean

Fans of the late James Dean continue to dream, but refuse to die, as they search for alternatives after the FAA refused to shut down Marion Municipal Airport for their annual festival.

In the best show biz tradition, they swear the festival will go on, regardless of the government's decision.

Their request to close the airport for the fest was turned down earlier this month, but organizers now hope to achieve at least a partial shutdown of the field next month.

Even without the complete shutdown of Marion Municipal, festival organizers said they hope to attract tens of thousands of people. As to the partial shutdown, FAA spokesman Tony Molinaro said "We're still on hold on this one."
