Man Arrested For Threatening To Fly A Plane Into A Bank

Texas Real Estate Appraiser Did Not Like Assessment

Sean Timothy Donnelly was arrested after telling an employee of Chase Bank that he was "ready to fly an airplane into your building."  Donnelly has several previous felony convictions and no record of any pilot's license on record in Texas.

FBI Special Agent Juan Herrera stated in an affidavit, "Chase Bank employees were frightened by this threat since several weeks ago, a plane had been flown into an Internal Revenue Service building in Austin, Texas."

Donnelly, 40, is a real estate appraiser and was reportedly upset by a property appraisal done by Chase Bank.  According to the affidavit, the call to the bank was recorded.

When authorities arrived at Donnelly's home to take him into custody, he refused to cooperate for two hours.  Court documents show that "After nearly one dozen law enforcement officers, including FBI agents, detectives and officers of the Utica Police Department, were present at the residence, Donnelly exited."

Donnelly is being held in custody until a detention hearing on Monday.  He is charged with making an interstate threat, a felony offense carrying a 5-year sentence.
