The California general assembly is considering a modified UAV trespass bill that would make any flight over private property at an altitude under 350 feet a violation of the state's trespassing law.

The bill as modified says, in part, that the operator may not fly at less than 350 feet above ground level within the airspace overlying the real property, without the consent of the landowner or other persons with legal authority to authorize the flight. Two BASE jumpers who leaped from the unfinished 1 World Trade Center in 2013 have avoided jail time for the stunt. It’s reported that James Brady and Andrew Rossig were sentenced on Monday to conditional discharge with a $2,000 fine and community service. Brady must spend 250 hours volunteering, while Rossig was sentenced to 200 hours. A third skydiver, Marko Markovich, has yet to be sentenced. The de Havilland Aircraft Museum has received almost $64,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund to complete the restoration of the de Havilland Mosquito Prototype fighter-bomber. The four-year project ensures the survival of this historic Second World War “wooden wonder” and has been carried out by volunteers at the museum at Salisbury Hall, London Colney. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
