Upgraded: Michael T. Suffredini

New ISS Program Manager

William H. Gerstenmaier, NASA associate administrator for Space Operations, has named Michael T. Suffredini as manager, International Space Station (ISS) Program. Suffredini has served as deputy International Space Station program manager since August 2004.

"Mike's dedication and service to the International Space Station have been extraordinary," said Gerstenmaier. "I'm very confident in his ability to lead the Station team."

As manager of the ISS program, Suffredini is responsible for the overall management, development, integration and operation of the project. This includes the design, manufacture, testing and delivery of complex space flight hardware and software and working directly with the program's international partners.

Prior to his role as deputy ISS program manager, Suffredini managed ISS Operations Integration, ISS Vehicle Development and the ISS Payloads Office. He also served as deputy manager of the ISS Business Management Office.

Suffredini joined NASA in January 1989. He has a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
