SNL Actor, Celebs To Take Flight on 4th Manned Trip Aboard New Shepard
Blue Origin has released the passenger list for the NS-20 launch, making headlines with the presence of a celebrity often in the news.
The new flight will carry a few celebrities, philanthropists, and corporate figures. The launch will continue the work with Blue Origin's booster program, Club for the Future. Student work and completed artwork will be taken up for use as souvenirs and launch will contain Postcards to Space, as is quickly becoming tradition in the launch schedule.
The roster of those aboard will include Marty Allen, a CEO and investor that led the resurgence of Party America, among other corporate gigs. Recent tabloid fixture Pete Davidson, an actor on Saturday Night Live, has become the unofficial face of NS-20 in pop media, no doubt thanks to having the most familiar face among a handful of executives and investors. Sharon Hagle, founder of SpaceKids Global, will come aboard to highlight their work in motivating girls to excel in science, math, and engineering education. She'll be joined by her similarly philanthropic husband, Marc Hagle, former CEO of Tricor International and real estate developer.
Jim Kitchen, a longtime space tourism promoter and enthusiast, will come aboard as well, finally completing a dream of his dating back to college. Kitchen once designed and conceptualized a startup to perform similar work to Blue Orbit, theoretically offering low-orbit space tours. Finally, the group will be joined by George Nield, the president of Commercial Space Technologies, a commercial space services facilitator. He is the former associate administrator over Commercial Space Transportation for the FAA, overseeing licensing and regulation for commercial launch activities.
The Blue Origin mission will take off on March 23 from Launch Site One in West Texas as weather permits.
