OC Air Show Still On Track After City Coughs Up Another $100K

Air Show Producer Claims Major Losses Due To Pandemic

The OC Air Show will take place on its rescheduled date of August 15-16, 2020. "The beautiful beaches and oceanfront of Ocean City, Maryland are the backdrop for this dramatic display of power, precision and patriotism that takes place along the boardwalk."

But... its been a tough road. Recent mandates from the Maryland State Attorney General have added costs and eliminated some features and access to the event.

Frank Miller, special events director for Ocean City told local media that, “Unfortunately, even though we had spoken with the county health officer on a number of details-related protocols and we had her blessing, she is not always the final say. What happened on Friday is we received an email from her that she received from the Maryland State Police related to the attorney general.”

The Attorney General and Worcester County Health Department placed some ticketed areas off limits and placed other restrictions on the event just days before it was to take place.

And while the city already invests $35,000 to help the air show meet expenses, the event organizer cajoled them into offering up another $100K... which they did... with some restrictions and enhancements for the city.

Three USAF fighter jet demonstration teams will reportedly perform over the beach-side locale -- including the F-22 Raptor, F-35 Lighting II and A-10 Thunderbolt II
