Smithsonian-Affiliated Museum Taps Three For Leadership Roles

The Board of Directors of the Frontiers of Flight, a Smithsonian affiliated museum, today announced the appointments of three new officers in key leadership positions.  Their roles are to further advance the mission of the museum which is to educate and inspire the youth of North Texas to become involved with science, engineering and mathematics especially as they relate to aviation and aerospace.

Pete Huff has been appointed to the position of Vice Chairman. He has a broad range of experience in public sector leadership positions including former Mayor Pro Tem of the McKinney, Texas City Council. Huff founded his company Dynamco in 1967 that he operated successfully until it was sold in 2001. He is a pilot and avid flyer.

Eric Stroud has been appointed to the position of Treasurer. Stroud is a Certified Public Accountant and also President of The Hoak Fund, Inc.

David Norton has been appointed to the position of Secretary. David is a partner with the Law Firm of Shakelford, Melton and McKinley LLP where he is head of the firm’s aviation law practice and member of its management committee.

"We are extremely fortunate to have such highly qualified and broadly experienced business leaders to help guide the Frontiers of Flight on its exciting journey ahead,” commented Hugh McElroy, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “Their leadership will be added to our existing efforts to make the Frontiers of Flight a ‘must see’ attraction to visitors and to residents of the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex”.

Established in 1989, the Frontiers of Flight Museum has gained a  reputation for its display of unique and rare artifacts representative of the development of flight and continuing through to space exploration.  Most recently, the museum has introduced major exhibits such as the Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 “Heart of Our History”, the Textron Bell “Huey” helicopter and the F105 Thunderchief.
