AD: Pilatus Aircraft Limited Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2018-04-10

PRODUCT: Pilatus Aircraft Limited Model PC-7 airplanes.

ACTION: Final Rule.

SUMMARY: This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product.

The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as the brakes remaining activated after release of the brake pedal.

DATES: This AD is effective April 12, 2018.

COST: The FAA estimates that this AD will affect 18 products of U.S. registry. The agency also estimates that it would take about 2.5 work-hours per product to comply with the basic requirements of this AD.

The average labor rate is $85 per work-hour. Based on these figures, the cost of the AD on U.S. operators is estimated to be $3,825, or $212.50 per product.
