Airbus Group Contributes To Aviation Training In Singapore

Presentation Made At Reception Wednesday Night

During its Singapore Air Show Reception Wednesday, Airbus Group announced a contribution of 10,888 euros ... nearly $15,000 ... to support aerospace training conducted by Air Transport and Training College (ATTC). The College is an approved training organization appointed by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency as the National Continuing Education and Training Center Institute for the aerospace industry workforce skills qualification.

ATTC is the professional development center of the Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers (SIAE). Furthermore, it is an internationally recognized training institute, providing professional training in aerospace engineering and aviation management to meet the needs of the dynamic aviation industry for trained aerospace engineers, technicians and managers.

The ceremonial check was delivered by Tom Enders, Chief Executive Officer of Airbus Group to LIU Wing Tim, Managing Director of ATTC at the Reception night. The donation will primarily be used to fund a bursary for needy diploma and degree students. A part of the donation will also be used to fund replacement of network PCs, an e-library, and purchase of avionics lab measuring instruments, among others.

“Our company motto is crisp and clear: We make it fly. This not only holds true for the business side of things but also for fuelling the love of aviation in people. Airbus Group is committed to making aerospace more accessible to the young and bright who are chasing their childhood dreams of flying,” said Tom Enders.

“We are very delighted to accept Airbus Group’s generous contribution, which will surely be of great value to ATTC students in need of financial support,” said LIU Wing Tim. “The funds will also enable us to procure additional learning resources that will help advance our students competency in aerospace and aviation training.”

Aside from endowments in educational institutions worldwide Airbus Group, through the Airbus Corporate Foundation also engages in charitable and humanitarian activities. Most recently, the Foundation extended humanitarian aid to victims of typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
