Barnstorming: April 1st, 2020 -- Seeking The Lighter Side In All This Insanity

The Annual April 1st Edition Is Nearly Here!

I don't have to tell you that the current circumstances we find ourselves in are anything but amusing… But through the toughest of times, I found a sense of humor to be quite the survival tool.

One of the questions we had last week, was whether or not it was both worthwhile, as well as proper, to conduct this year's Annual April 1 edition.

Over the course of 23 years, we've only skipped the April 1 edition once. That was a couple of years ago in the few days that had passed since my Father died. And while we expressed the fact (then) that we really didn't have much of a sense of humor at the time, and really couldn't find much to laugh at, I still remember that while speaking at my Father's service, it was the funny stories and the little jokes about the vastness of his life that made the whole thing far easier to endure. It was good to laugh... and surprisingly, it was a good time to laugh.

So… In the midst of all this insanity, and the horrible circumstances that are occurring to people we know and care about, we do indeed see a reason to try to laugh.

In the midst of the worst times, I have greatly admired those who have managed to get through it, especially those who've been able to find the bright spots and some humor in the darkest of times.

With that in mind, and with the greatest of hope that the circumstances that have befallen us are of short duration and limited threat, were just gonna have to grin and bear it.

We will present the April 1 edition for 2020, on schedule tomorrow, poking fun at the craziness and the silliness that still exists around us, and with a little bit of luck, it will give many of you a chance to laugh… Even just a little bit.

And if we succeed at getting a few grins and a few giggles out of you, even in these times, our mission will be a great success.

We wish you all the best. We care so much for so many of you. We're feeling much of what you're feeling now -- and please know that no matter what, we're here for you, to the best of our ability.

So please, have a laugh (or two) on us...
